Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1977 Rabbit.
This reference entry covers the 1977 Volkswagen Rabbit, yet the only supplied data points are model-wide complaint totals from 2006 through 2009 rather than contemporary specifications for the 1977 car. That later record shows Rabbit complaints rising from a low of 13 in 2006 to a high of 62 in 2009, with 2009 marking the worst year in that span and 2006 the best. Because those figures are separated from the 1977 model year by decades, they do not locate the 1977 Rabbit within its own reliability history; they merely document a later, unrelated chapter of the same model line.
