What causes it — most likely first

1. Short to voltage in motor control wiring

Damaged insulation or harness routing allows the motor feed or control wire to contact a constant 12 V source, pulling the circuit high.

2. Failed ABS pump motor assembly

Internal winding fault or commutator damage creates an abnormal voltage feedback into the driver circuit.

3. Corroded or loose connector at EBCM or pump

High resistance or intermittent contact can cause voltage spikes that the module interprets as a circuit-high condition.

4. Defective motor driver inside EBCM
