Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1976 Cutlass Salon.
The 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon is documented with a minimal reliability footprint, having generated only three total owner complaints across all tracked categories, with the top grievance area listed under the non-specific classification "Unknown Or Other," alongside two documented recalls. This sparse complaint volume, combined with the ambiguous nature of the primary reported issue, places the model year within the lower-incident range of the nameplate's recorded history. Such a profile indicates a production run that generated limited documented owner distress, though the presence of recalls and undefined primary complaints confirms isolated quality concerns were not entirely absent.

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.
Owner complaints about the 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon dominate in one area — the unknown or other, 1 of 3 reports (33%), well ahead of the next concern. None of this vehicle's 2 recall campaigns target the unknown or other, so those reports read as owner-reported wear-and-tear rather than an acknowledged defect. 0 of the reports describe a crash and 0 a fire — a small share of the total, but worth weighing against the unknown or other pattern above. These are tallies of what owners actually reported to the federal government, not an editorial score — and higher-selling models naturally rack up more reports.
