1982 Chevrolet C30

Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1982 C30.

The 1982 Chevrolet C30 is noted in the record as having generated a single owner complaint, which centered on tire issues, and was accompanied by one recall. This low complaint count stands in contrast to the later model years covered from 1990 to 1998, during which the highest annual total reached nine complaints in 1995 while the lowest tallied just one complaint in 1991. Consequently, the 1982 model year appears among the more reliable examples in the vehicle’s later complaint history.

Reliability & federal safety record

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.

The 1982 Chevrolet C30 does not appear in the federal complaint database years supplied, which start with 1990. In the earliest recorded year (1990) there were 2 complaints, 3 recalls and 2 investigations, and complaint counts rose to a peak of 9 in 1995 before declining thereafter. Across the available years the complaint trend shows a gradual increase through the early 1990s followed by a reduction in later years. Because the 1982 model predates the first documented data point, its specific issue frequency cannot be directly compared. Therefore, the 1982 Chevrolet C30 cannot be judged as a problematic year based on federal records, but prospective buyers should insist on a comprehensive inspection to confirm reliability.
