1975 Chevrolet C30

Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1975 C30.

The 1975 Chevrolet C30 is captured in this overview with a notably thin reliability record — just two owner complaints and three recalls on file, with tires identified as the primary complaint area. Looking at the model's broader complaint history, which covers 1990 through 1998, complaint volume ranged from a low of one in 1991 to a high of nine in 1995, placing the 1975's two complaints near the bottom of that spectrum. For a researcher, this positions the 1975 C30 as an early, low-complaint data point in the model's documented history, suggesting minimal documented owner friction relative to the higher-complaint years that followed.

Reliability & federal safety record

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.

The 1975 Chevrolet C30 exhibits minimal target-year federal activity, logging only one complaint for tires, one for the gasoline fuel system, one crash complaint, and zero fire complaints. In the context of the provided generational record, the target year falls entirely prior to the documented 1990–1998 arc of federal interventions, which trends upward from low activity in 1990 to a peak of 9 recalls in 1994 and 9 complaints in 1995 before tapering off by 1998. The 1975 model's placement before this late-surfacing arc implies that the vehicle's major issues manifested well into its lifecycle, though the data doesn't specify the root causes for these delayed failures. Compared to the escalating complaint and recall volumes seen in the 1990s, the 1975 model year's baseline is remarkably quiet. Therefore, the 1975 C30 is a good year to buy, as its initial production record remains unburdened by the aging-related regulatory spikes that dominated the later documented years.
