Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1978 Scirocco.
The 1978 Volkswagen Scirocco is reflected in owner-reported reliability records by exactly one complaint, lodged in the Service Brakes, Hydraulic category, alongside a total of eight recalls. That minimal complaint volume places the model year at the quiet extreme of the documented ownership-feedback spectrum. Consequently, its reliability profile is defined less by widespread, recurring owner-reported failures than by the scope of its recall history.
