P2263 sets when the engine control module detects that actual intake boost pressure is consistently outside the expected range compared with the commanded or target boost. This generic performance code applies to both turbocharged and supercharged engines and indicates the boost control system is not delivering the intended manifold pressure.

1. Turbocharger or supercharger mechanical failure

Worn bearings, damaged compressor or turbine wheels, seized shaft, or excessive internal leakage prevent the forced-induction unit from generating commanded boost. This is the component the code ultimately monitors.

A leak in intercooler hoses, clamps, charge pipes, or the intercooler itself allows pressurized air to escape before reaching the intake manifold, so actual boost falls below target.

4. Boost or manifold pressure sensor fault

5. Boost control solenoid or vacuum circuit problem

  5. Check the boost control solenoid and vacuum or electronic actuator circuit for proper operation, command response, and integrity of lines or wiring.
