This code indicates the transmission fluid temperature (TFT) sensor circuit is providing an erratic, unstable, or on-and-off signal to the transmission or powertrain control module. Because shift strategy, line pressure, and torque converter lockup depend on accurate fluid temperature data, an intermittent signal can cause harsh shifting or limp-mode operation.
