B1379 indicates that the oil-change reset button/switch signal circuit is reading a lower-than-expected voltage because it is shorted to ground somewhere between the switch and the monitoring module. This usually prevents normal reset of the oil-life reminder and may cause the switch input to appear permanently pressed or unresponsive.
The switch contacts or internal circuit can short to ground, pulling the signal line low continuously. This is the most common cause because the button is a wear item exposed to repeated use and cabin moisture.
