Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1983 Grand Prix.
The 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix Electric is an electric-powered vehicle that recorded only two recalls and two total owner complaints, with the primary issue involving exterior lighting. This stability stands in contrast to the model's subsequent complaint history from 1990 to 2008. During that period, owner complaints reached a low of 102 in 1996 and peaked at 859 in 1997.

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.
The provided federal record covers 1990–2008, so 1983 sits before the documented data set and has no year-by-year complaints, recalls, investigations, or TSBs listed. Against the earliest recorded year, 1990, which logged 218 complaints, 9 recalls, 11 investigations, and 10 TSBs, the 1983 record is essentially blank, making direct comparison impossible. Across the 1990–2008 arc, complaints peak in 1997 at 859, recalls top out in 2001 at 10, and TSBs rise steadily from 10 to 871, indicating that later model years carry far more documented service activity. The only 1983-specific figures are two top-complaint categories—Exterior Lighting and Seat Belts—each with one report, plus one crash complaint and zero fire complaints, which is a very small sample. Because 1983 predates the federal trend data and offers minimal recorded feedback, the record neither confirms a clean history nor identifies common failure patterns. As a purchase, 1983 is not a year the data can recommend with confidence; it is effectively a blind spot, so a thorough pre-purchase inspection matters far more than the federal record.
