Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1983 Bonneville.
The 1983 Pontiac Bonneville, riding on the GM B-body platform, was a full-size sedan that carried a 4-quart oil capacity and called for a range of viscosities from 20W-20 to 20W-50, reflecting the era’s flexible maintenance standards. This model year sits outside the vehicle’s recorded complaint history, which spans 1990 to 2005 and peaks at 299 complaints in 1998, meaning the 1983 Bonneville belongs to an earlier generation whose reliability is not captured in that dataset—placing it before the period when the model’s most problematic years were documented.
