1968 Chevrolet Caprice

Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1968 Caprice.

The 1968 Chevrolet Caprice represents an early chapter in a model line whose documented complaint history spans 1990 through 2011, offering researchers a longitudinal view of the nameplate's reliability trajectory. Within that range, complaints reached their highest concentration in the 1994 model year at 196 reported issues, while the 2003 model year marked the opposite extreme with just a single complaint — a dramatic spread that underscores how substantially the model's reliability profile shifted across its later production years. For anyone studying the Caprice's evolution, this pattern suggests the nameplate matured significantly over time, with the later covered years reflecting its most trouble-free era, positioning the 1968 as a product of the model's formative period well before the reliability gains that would define its later lifecycle.
