1992 Cadillac Fleetwood Broughham

Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1992 Fleetwood Broughham.

The 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood Broughham requires 5 quarts of 5W-30 API oil, but the more revealing story sits in its reliability profile, where just 8 total owner complaints have been recorded over its lifetime — with the electrical system accounting for the top complaint area — alongside two recalls. That low complaint count, concentrated narrowly around electrical issues rather than spread across mechanical faults, frames the model year as a data point defined more by specificity than by severity. For researchers cataloging the Broughham's history, the 1992 entry offers a relatively clean record whose limited recall exposure and modest complaint volume point to a stable rather than problematic chapter in the model's run.

Factory maintenance schedule OEM · verified

Normal service, condensed from the factory interval matrix.

Under the factory schedule, replace the engine oil and filter at 7,500 mi; coolant every 30,000 mi. The big-interval services (every 30,000 mi for coolant, and the transmission fluid) are the ones owners most often skip — on a lower-mileage example, assume the original fluids are still in it and check them first.

Reliability & federal safety record

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.

Owner complaints about the 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood Broughham lead in one area — the electrical system, 2 of 8 reports (25%), well ahead of the next concern. None of this vehicle's 2 recall campaigns target the electrical system, so those reports read as owner-reported wear-and-tear rather than an acknowledged defect. 1 of the reports describe a crash and 2 a fire — a small share of the total, but worth weighing against the electrical system pattern above. These are tallies of what owners actually reported to the federal government, not an editorial score — and higher-selling models naturally rack up more reports.
